La Gare French Restaurant has been a cornerstone of fine French cuisine in Sonoma County since its founding by Swiss-born Marco and Gladys Praplan. This second-generation family-run establishment operates in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country, within Santa Rosa's Historic Railroad Square District. The restaurant's history and heritage are still celebrated today.
Fresh, locally-sourced ingredients are used to craft dishes inspired by the restaurant's Swiss-French roots. Every meal starts with both soup and salad, along with tableside preparations. Dishes such as lamb, beef Wellington, fish, and crab cake are featured on the menu.
The dining room has a charming atmosphere, and an enclosed patio, Avenue De La Gare, provides al fresco dining options year-round. This patio accommodates large parties of up to 50 guests and is also dog-friendly. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (707)528-4355.
Every Monday, the restaurant features free corkage, and a prime rib special is available every Wednesday night. Gift certificates can be purchased in any denomination. La Gare French Restaurant is found at 208 Wilson Street, Santa Rosa, CA 95401, and the phone number is (707)528-4355.
